Bacolod City Mental Health Care Center is under the City Health Office of Bacolod. The following policies are based on Bacolod City Ordinance Establishing a Bacolod City Mental Health Care Center (2004).
OBJECTIVES
To consult, admit, and treat mentally ill patients by administering appropriate medication, therapeutic activities and other related measures to enhance fast recovery in Out Patient Department (OPD) and In-Patient Department (IPD)
To facilitate the detoxification and treatment of psychotic substance abusers (i.e. methamphetamine, alcohol, etc.)
To de-institutionalize patients and re-integrate them to their family and community
To let the patients understand the nature of their illness in order that they will be responsible enough to monitor their own medication and personal needs
To take care of the chronically ill
To possibly teach the patients income-generating projects through occupational therapy to prepare them for discharge from BCMHCC
